Reviews
Supercheap books. Amazing selection. Ideal to spend time looking for new and not so heared titles. Definitelly love that I cross paths with this bookshop. I got two books that I don't know how I'm gonna fit on my switcase, but definitelly worth it!
Cheap books and a pretty nice selection, the staff is very friendly and helpful, and i came out of there with 3 more books than i planned on bying. I just wish there was more fantasy and young adult + queer fiction though! Still, it's a definite MUST on a Bristol Tour!
This is a gem in Bristol. I still do not understand how hardcover books are 4 pounds. They have new and used books and I think everyone can find there something for themselves or even a good gift.
Perfect place for book lovers an independent bookstore with unbelievable cheap prices. Amazing staff and great collection
I did not spend too much time in this place because at this point in time, I need to be prudent about money. I only purchased one book.
The young man behind the till was really nice. He asked me about the Jodi Picoult book that I was purchasing. He then put a qustion to me about her other books and I just drew a blank. I am an extremely shy person and I struggled to think of an answer.
One of the books that I liked which she wrote was "Handle with Care." I hope he is able to see this review, in case it is something that he wants to read.
She also wrote, "House Rules." It is about a mother who has two children and one of them is described as having Asperger's Syndrome. Some people have criticised this book heavily, while others find that it is an accurate portrayal in certain instances, of how the mother feels. Obviously, if people choose to read the book, they can decide for themselves. I just appreciated the effort the person behind the counter made to speak about the books people purchased.
Although the £3 books make the store incredibly affordable (which it is for new books), the format just doesn't seem to work. As others have mentioned, the books aren't worth the same amount, and so shouldn't be sold for the same amount. And the stock that has been chosen is clearly limited and chosen around the £3 sale budget. A tier cost system may work better.
This is the best commission bookshop I've been to (other examples include G Davids in Cambridge, South Kensington Bookshop, Judd Books and many others). The titles are really interestingly curated, and the stock is much more diverse than that in other bookshops in this category. There is always something exciting to pick up here.
probably the best bookshop to ever exist in terms of price. they have some great books i’ve never seen before, most of them extremely niche. lovely staff and store jam packed with different kinds
Came in to get a book on poetry and the lady who helped me was so helpful and knowledgeable. Unbelievable prices and unbelievable books 🙂 …
Amazing books for affordable prices - I got a science-based book that would normally cost £16 for £4!! Such a bargain
